The Night

There's an honesty to nighttime that daylight can't match. Under neon signs and stage lights, people let their guard down. Musicians lose themselves in sound. The city reveals its hidden face.

This series captures those unscripted moments — from intimate jazz clubs to street-level encounters, from steel wool light painting to the warm glow of a dive bar.

Technical

Shooting in low light demands trust in your gear and your instincts. High ISO, wide apertures, and a willingness to embrace the grain and imperfection that make night photography feel alive.

I never use flash for these shoots. The existing light — stage spots, neon, candles, streetlamps — is always more honest than anything I could add.
